Exploring Bullhead City Nevada

Just outside of the Las Vegas hustle and bustle is a quiet little town off the Colorado River called Bullhead city. When driving in you go from a pretty high elevation into a deep canyon that is only at 50 feet ocean level. The quick drop made me feel a little nauseous so make sure you are ready for the downhill drive into the canyon.

On one side of the Colorado River is a bigger city called Laughlin. It is on the Nevada side with towering casinos overshadowing part of the quiet river. We didn't get to explore that side but if you are looking to gamble or eat with a view you could check it out.

Just on the other side of the river is Bullhead City. Right when we got to the town I noticed there was a really nice park called Bullhead Community Park. It's a great stop if you have kids that need to get out of the car for a bit. They have slides, and even a water park that opens during the summer. We dropped by in Janruary so nothing was open when we went. A hidden gem just outside of Las Vegas if you need a break from the city. The river on the Bullhead side is quiet and next to the park there is acess to parking, picnic tables and grills.

We tried to go into the Colorado River Museum but it was closed for the day when we arrived. There was not a soul in sight on the day we visited which felt a little weird since it's outside such a big city.

After we spent some time at the park and on the river we drove to Dunkin Doughnuts where a local kid recommended we stop at I Heart Tacos for their dollar tacos. They offer different deals a few days out of the week and we caught them on their chicken taco day. Would definately recommend for both the taste and price 10/10.

As eager as I was to get there I was ready to get out as the elevation difference could still be felt in my body. We drove out of Bullhead and in an hour+ we were back in Las Vegas.
